iPad Users Get LinkedIn to New App

Bloggers and tech writers are calling it surprisingly sexy and the only app you'll need at work. But is LinkedIn's (NYSE: LNKD) long-awaited iPad app the program you've been waiting for?

If you love LinkedIn, then the answer is a resounding yes.

Built with a slick, easy-to-read interface that allows users to seamlessly slide between pages, the LinkedIn app is a great way to amplify your mobile social media experience.

The "updates" section is particularly impressive, as it displays each update "like a newspaper," as my colleague Hilary Farrell put it. She was right. When clicking on a story from, say, the Wall Street Journal, the page immediately dissolves into a shortened version of the story -- no load time required. From there you may click on the "view original article" button to see the full story.

In my preliminary tests with the app, I did notice a few-second delay between pages in the "updates" section -- but only when trying to slide between several of them at one time. However, that might have more to do with our Wi-Fi here at Benzinga (which is flooded daily with several laptops and devices) than the app itself.

Regardless of the cause, it's hard to deny that this is one of the best social media apps to come to the iPad.
